What is kosher?

We often think of the word as pertaining to clean foods. Foods that are prepared in a certain method and foods that we eat according to the Jewish Dietary Laws. A Rabbi must bless all your food before it is kosher developed many centuries ago but today’s standards in America prohibit this in some cases. In the Hebrew, language “Kashrut” is the term used to mean what foods are allowed to be eating according to the Jewish Dietary Law. The root of the word is “Kosher” which means fit, proper or correct. The term “Kosher” then not only applies to foods but to other things as well. Kosher also applies to such things as preparing the “Holy” items for special holidays; also, it is used in connection with courtship, love, and marriage. We
