Can a person shave his beard in the days of the omer?
Thank you for your question. The custom is for a person to conduct himself as whether he were in semi-mourning during a portion of the counting of the omer, and not to shave his beard. Some observe that from Passover until Lag B’Omer (the 33rd day in the counting of the omer). Others observe that from Rosh Chodesh Iyar until 3 days before Shavuos.
Take care,
Rabbi Aaron Tendler
