Kosher is really catching on with franchises

With all of the news reports about tainted food products on the market, eating can be hazardous to your health. A preponderance of contaminated items imported from China and a growing list of other countries who seem to ignore our safety and quality standards is downright scary.

It seems we have a serious shortage of government food inspectors, and too many questionable products are reaching consumers. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that more people, Jew and gentile, kosher and not, are now looking for that extra layer of security in what they eat - kosher certification.

All

of the ingredients used in the making of Krispy Kreme doughnuts are kosher. The two mix plants in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Effingham, Illinois are under kosher supervision. Many of the Krispy Kreme shops are kosher. The first kosher Subway sandwich shop opened in 2006 in a Cleveland suburb. Brooklyn was the second location, and more are being planned across the U.S. in places from Long Island to Los Angeles.

Information about the kosher status of Krispy Kreme can be found at http://www.krispykreme.com/nutri.html For more about kosher Subway locations, go to http://www.koshertoday.com/portal/news.asp#news5
