Kosher food industry is booming

For anyone who has a kosher kitchen, product choices at the supermarket have never been better. Of course, many items like matzoh meal, borscht and gefilte fish remain traditional favorites that generations of Jews have been buying since canned and packaged food products first hit the store shelves. But in recent years, more mainstream food manufacturers have joined the competition for kosher market share and have jumped on the hechsher (kosher certification mark) bandwagon.

With the introduction of kosher specialty items like Buffalo style wing sauce

and Cajun style fisherman’s sauce, and the universal availability of regular staples with certification like premium olive oil and Dijon mustard, today’s kosher consumer and cook can now blaze a new trail to epicurean ecstasy.
