Jewish Center Ready for First Passover - Gazette Advertiser - NY
The Rhinebeck Jewish Center is getting ready to celebrate its first Passover, and Rabbi Hanoch Hecht is preparing to preside by his first Seder since the center opened its doors in 2007…Hecht is quick to point out that Passover is celebrated to thank God for saving the Jews, not to celebrate the downfall of the Egyptians.”We don’t celebrate that someone else lost their life,” Hecht said. “We celebrate that we were saved. We’re celebrating the fact that we left slavery.”
