Debbie Schlussel Decides Who The “True” Jews Are

Still think there’s not a conspiracy among conservatives to intentionally say the most silly, offensive thing possible without getting Imus’ed?

Well, “radio talk show host” Debbie Schlussel tops Coulter, and it’s gotta be a secret contest, considering there is no f–king way anyone is that damn silly but still manages to chew their food. According to Schlussel, if you’re Jewish and offended by Ann Coulter’s statements, you’re a phony Jew:

True devout Jews are not offended by Ann [Coulter]’s comments, though they really appreciate her alliance with our causes. It’s only the Jewish libs, like Deutch [sic], who are feigning that shock and outrage. That’s considering she’s a threat to their real religion: liberalism.

Of course, Schlussel makes a big point of saying that she is a true “religious Jew”, and other Jews are the phony ones, so it’s not a bigoted statement — of course not.

The reason I keep bringing these things up, that week, is to show that as standard operating procedure throughout the right. It shouldn’t be ignored, it should be highlighted. that is the entire nut of their movement: deciding which soldiers are patriotic, and which ones are phony. Deciding which families living in the aftereffects of tragedy are needy, and which are

phony. Deciding which Jews are true, and which are phony. “Phony” is the mantra: anyone who disagrees with them is either (1) mentally ill, (2) under the spell of evil liberals, or (3) frauds. They seem to revel in thier own incapacity to comprehend dissent.

But I have no explanation for that current round of unusually spectacular conservative crap, other than perhaps the melting icecaps have released all the excess silly that was trapped in ancient ice as the dinosaurs died off.

Her desperate flailing to be a poor man’s ann coulter is pathetic. If you really want to hurt her, don’t rebuke her; ignore her.

I thought truly orthodox Jews had a problem with practicing yoga. So who gave this woman sanction for tying herself in knots?

“If another country builds a better car, we buy it. If they make a better wine, we drink it. If they have better healthcare . . . what’s our problem? “

In part, because she truly is a crazy Ann Coulter wannabe but is too stupid and unappealing to pull off the act.

But it struck me that I have heard similar musings to Coulters in the distant past, from Alan Berg, the Denver talk radio show host who was gunned down in the early 1980’s. Berg, who was Jewish, used to have a segment on his show entitled “Talk to a Jew” - - clearly parody, and very funny, but also serious and disturbing. And his show contained a lot of irreverence towards Jews, and comparisons between Christians and Jews and so on.

In this case, I don’t really think Coulter was all that out of line. She was trying to be funny. Her credentials are such that nothing that she can say will be amusing to me. But her references to camel jockeys and exterminating Muslims (sentiments that Ms. Schlussel shares, by the way), strike me as far more offensive.

Ultimately, it would be nice if we could just stop thinking about people like Ann Coulter - - or perhaps consign them to having the relevance of the senile rantings of prominent conservatives like Art Linkletter.
