A 30-foot chanukiah will be the focal point of the public festivities on 11 December, at an event being organised by the Mayor’s office together with Hendon Chabad. Chanukah on the Square, which members of the public will be able to attend free of charge, will feature a choir of Jewish youngsters and will see doughnuts, latkes and gelt being handed out to visitors.
